Chris Rutkowski, an astronomer and expert UFO sightings, said the pictures taken by Brad Korponay on Sunday night at the Steep Rock, Manitoba, marking the first report UFO sightings in the area for a long time, Winnipeg Free Press reported.
"This is definitely not a bolide (meteor), because it looked very old," said Rutkowski.
"It does not look like an airplane. If I had to guess, it looks like a lantern China. I've never seen anything like this before ... although how lantern China exist in the steep rock, I do not know."
China flying lanterns consist of paper with a candle like a small hot air balloon.
UFO experts say, the possibility of foreign body origin was from an alien "is nil."
